As a photographer, Sanne Hofker (b. 2001, Den Bosch, The Netherlands) is drawn to the power of imagery to capture and convey a unique perspective on the world around us. She graduated Cum Laude from AKI ArtEZ Academy of the Arts in 2023 and has since been busy trying to start on her own in both the commercial and art world, recently landing an exhibition at Galerie Ron Mandos with her graduation project “Solitude”.
Sanne seeks to create visually striking images that are both stylised and spontaneous, drawing inspiration from a range of sources. From experimenting with the latest technologies to the timeless techniques and compositions of the old photography masters. The always-changing world around us is one of her most important influences and she loves to create work reacting to our world, with recurrent focusses on the LGBTQ+ community and mental health awareness.
At the heart of the work is the desire to tell stories, to transport viewers into her own little world and invite them to experience the beauty and wonder that she sees around her. Whether working with people or objects, Sanne always strives to create images that make people stop and stare for a moment, inviting them to reflect on their own experiences and perspectives.
